Gartymore is village on the east coast of Sutherland less than half a mile south-west of Helmsdale, by West Helmsdale, and close to the border with Caithness.

The main habitations of this scattered place are a little inland, immediately south of those of West Helmsdale while the cottages seen by passing travellers are those few beside the coastal road, the A9, or the railway, the Far North Line, which runs parallel to the A9 here.
