Hudnall is a hamlet in southern Buckinghamshire, in that salient of the county that protrudes into Hertfordshire near Little Gaddesden. Indeed, since 1885 that village's civil parish has encompassed Hudnall. It is three miles from Edlesborough, into which ancient parish it falls.

History

The name is anciently written Hodenhale and Hoden Hall. The manor or lordship anciently belonged to the College of Bonhommes at Ashridge and at the dissolution of that house it came into the possession of the family of Dormer. It subsequently came by marriage to Philip Earl of Chesterfield. In 1738 it was sold to Mrs Dyson of London, who left it to her son, Jeremiah Dyson Esq., Clerk of the House of Commons and it was afterwards sold for the benefit of his children. John William, the sixth Earl of Bridgewater purchased it in 1808.
