Leith HillLeith Hill is the highest hill in Surrey and the highest of all the south-eastern counties, forming part of the Weald, the hills between the North and South Downs. The hill reaches 965 feet, and at its summit stands a tower built to take the height of Leith Hill over the magic figure of a thousand feet. The hill is found north of the village of Ockley. A Roman road, Stane Street, passes straight as an arrow from the Mole Gap over a lower spur of the hill and on through Ockley. (Read more) |
