Broughton, Peeblesshire

Broughton is a village in Peeblesshire, beside the Biggar Water, near where it flows into the River Tweed, about four miles east of Biggar, and nine miles west of the county town, Peebles.

The village is best known as the one-time home of John Buchan; soldier, author of adventure novels such as The Thirty-Nine Step and later Governor-General of Canada. (Read more)
