Millom

Millom is a town on the estuary of the River Duddon in the southernmost point of Cumberland. The name is said to be from the Cumbrian dialect for "At the mills" or the Old Norse for "Between [rivers]", but what is known is that the town was founded as an industrial town only in 1866. (Read more)
