Ayr

Ayr is a town and port on the Firth of Clyde. It is the county town of Ayrshire and, with a population of around 46,000, is its largest town. Ayr became a royal burgh in 1205, but has a history back into the Dark Ages.

Nearby are the golf and aviation industry of Prestwick and Alloway, birthplace of Robert Burns. (Read more)
