A footpath to Carlatton Demesne

Carlatton in Cumberland is no more than a scattered collection of farms some seven and a half miles east of Carlisle, and west of the King's Forest of Geltsdale, where the Pennines begin. There is no village nor hamlet named Carlatton. Along the long lane that runs through this area the central farm is Carlatton Demesne, which has Carlatton Middle to the north and Carlatton Mill and Hall's Tenement to the south.

The closest village is tiny Cumwhitton a mile to the west.
