Saughtree is a hamlet in Roxburghshire, sitting in Liddesdale at the junction of the B6357 and an unnamed road from Kielder village in Northumberland, where the Liddel Water and Dawston Burn meet.

Saughtree is four miles from Roxburghshire's boundary with Northumberland, and is the first village a traveller meets coming over the pass from Kielder.

The nearest villages on the B6357 are Bonchester Bridge (eight miles to the north-east), Newcastleton (eight miles to the south-west) and Kielder (seven miles to the south-east).

Saughtree Fell rises above the village to 1,476 feet. Saughtree Church was built in 1875 and is in the Parish of Castleton. The former Manse next to the church was built in 1891 and is now a private dwelling providing bed and breakfast accommodation.

There was once a raiway station at Saughtree railway station, near Riccarton Junction Station. It is now a private dwelling. The railway was borne over the burn on Saughtree Railway Viaduct, since demolished. The station buildings now provide Bed and Breakfast accommodation

Other places nearby include Castleton, Dinlabyre, Hermitage Castle, the Hermitage Water. the Wauchope Forest, and the Newcastleton Forest.
