Footbridge on the Dewar Water at Garvald

The Dewar Burn is a minor stream in the Moorfoot Hills, its whole course being in Midlothian.

The burn begins in numerous streams trickling from the slopes of Dewar Hill and others of the Moorfoot Hills. It runs due north in a narrow dale, which it shares with the B709, past the village of Dewar, and joins the Heriot Water below Whiteside Law, at Garvald.
