Forder is a village near Saltash in south-eastern Cornwall, just beyond the south-western edge of the town. It is at the head of a creek fed by the Latchbrook Leat, which creek, known as Forder Lake, runs due south and opens into the estuary of the River Lynher.
The railway crosses Forder Lake to the south of the village on a long viaduct. There was an earlier viaduct here though: Forder Viaduct (50°23’42"N, 4°13’52"W) stood 67 feet high and 606 feet long on 16 trestles, crossing near the mouth of the creek at Antony Passage.. It was demolished after the line was diverted to a more inland alignment on 19 May 1908.[1]
