Nenthorn is a tiny farming village and parish in south-west Berwickshire, adjacent to the border with Roxburghshire. The village is situated on the A6209 north of Kelso in that county. The parish forms a projection into Roxburghshire, such that of the adjacent parishes, four of them, namely Stichill, Ednam, Kelso and Smailholm belong to that county, with only Earlston and Hume joining it to the rest of its own.

Old Nenthorn lies half a mile south-west of the main hamlet as it stands today, running down to the Eden Water. Nenthorn House forms a third vertex of the triangle, just north-west of Old Nenthorn.
