Cwmavon is a small village near the towns of Abersychan and Blaenavon in Monmouthshire. The river to which the village's name refers is the Afon Lwyd.

Due to Cwmavon's rural setting it is a popular place for ramblers to explore the local countryside of valleys and mountains, industrial history and heritage. The industrial heritage is notably seen within the community woodland, where several quarries and lime kilns remain.

The village population is very low, but there is a public house close to the village. The other of Cwmavon's pubs, The Westlakes was named after the former brewery of the same name that is nearby.
