Brow Merse at the rivermouth

The Lochar Water is a minor river of Dumfriesshire. It runs parallel to the lower reaches of the River Nith, to the east of the larger river, to enter the Solway Firth in the bay formed by the Nith's outflow.

The only sizable village on the course of the Lochar is Locharbriggs.
