Gwernyfed is a parish in north-eastern Brecknockshire, centred on the village of Three Cocks. It takes its name from Gwernyfed Park, a mediæval deer park within the parish. It is bounded to the east by Llanigon, to the south by Talgarth, to the west by Bronllys and to the north by Glasbury in Radnorshire.
The parish of Gwernyfed was established in 1985 through the merger of Aberllynfi, the greater part of Tre-goed & Felindre, and small parts of Bronllys and Llanelieu. It includes the villages of Three Cocks and Velindre, the Brecknockshire half of the village of Glasbury, and the rural settlements of Tre-goed and Pont Ithel.[1] The population in 2005 was 995.
