Broadheath is a pair of villages (sharing a civil parish) in Worcestershire:

  • Lower Broadheath and
  • Upper Broadheath

The villages are just west of the City of Worcester and according to the 2001 census they had a population of 1,713. The main village is Lower Broadheath, along the B4204 out of Worcester, and this is where the church stands and the village amendityies are to be found. Upper Broadheath is a more diffuse village, up the hill a little to the south, on a minor road branched off the A44.

There are many housing estates in the village, including the Jacomb Estate (Jacomb Road, Jacomb Drive, Jacomb Close and Rectory Close).

The village has a village hall, church, post office and shop, a village green (containing a football pitch, running track and many children's play areas) and a large village common. There is also a primary school (Broadheath C E Primary School). The school contains around 150 children, from the age of four up to eleven. There are also three pubs in the village.

The composer Edward Elgar was born in Upper Broadheath[1] and his birthplace is now a museum.
