Acton Turville is a small village in Gloucestershire, sitting just north of the M4 motorway, between Burton, Somerset to the south and Badmington (Gloucestershire) to the north. The Somerset River Avon rises here.

The parish church is St Mary, in the midst of the village.

The village is listed as Achetone in the Domesday Book; the “Turville” suffix indicates the ownership of the manor by the Turville family in the Middle Ages.
