Little Wymondley is a village of Hertfordshire found in the gap between Hitchin and Stevenage. Great Wymondley lies to the north and the wee village of St Ippolyts to the west. Notwithstanding their names, Little Wymondley is larger than Great Wymondley.
Crammed uncomfortably between the A602 dual carriageway and the railway line, beside Junction 8 of the A1(M),Little Wymondley nevertheless keeps its integrity, and the motorway and A-road perhaps prevent its being subsumed by Stevenage.
The parish church is St Mary the Virgin. There is also a Baptist church.
The village has several interesting houses, including the moated Bury of the 16th and 17th centuries, the fine 17th century Hall, the late Georgian Wymondley House, and Wymondley Priory, an early 13th century foundation turned into a house in the 16th and 17th centuries.
