Cwmbran

Cwmbran is a new town in Monmouthshire, established in 1949. Based around the villages of Old Cwmbran, Pontnewydd, Upper Cwmbran, Croesyceiliog, Llantarnam and Llanyrafon, its population had grown to 47,254 by 2001.

The New Town's commercial centre was originally built in the late 1950s. In 1988, it was refurbished, building a new Congress theatre. (Read more)
