Rothesay Bay
Rothesay Bay deeply indents the eastern shore of the Isle of Bute, the northern main island of Buteshire in the Firth of Clyde. It is in the middle of the islabnd's east coast, looking out towards Argyll's Cowal peninsula to the north.
The Royal Burgh of Rothesay, the county town and principal ferry port of the county, stands on the bay.
The bay marks the point where the Highland Boundary Fault, which crosses the island south to north, crosses the coast. The fault likewise forms Scalpsie Bay on the west coast of Bute.
