Newton or (The Newton) is a small village in West Lothian. It sits by the A904 road two and a half miles west of South Queensferry and the Forth Road Bridge and six miles east of Linlithgow, the county town.

Until the opening of the Queensferry Crossing and associated improvements, all road traffic travelling west from the Forth Road Bridge had to pass through the village in order to gain access to the M9 motorway, but upgrades to M9 Junction 1a to allow access westbound from the M90 now mean this is no longer necessary.

The village's location serves it well as a commuter village for those who travel daily to Edinburgh and Fife. It currently hosts a petrol service station, a small shop, a pub and a post office.
