Crofton is a tiny hamlet in Wiltshire, in he east of the county, nestled against the Kennet and Avon Canal, a mile and a half to the south-west of Great Bedwyn.
This is the location of two noted structures on the canal, the Crofton Locks and Crofton Pumping Station.
A Roman road passing south-east to north-west passes through Crofton.
