Blacknest is a small village in the east of Hampshire, a mile and a half east of Binsted (to which civil parish it is allocated) and a mile and a half again west of the border of Sussex, and between Blacknest and the border extends the Alice Holt Forest.
The local pub is The Jolly Farmer. The village has a golf course (the Blacknest Golf & Country Club), and access to the Alice Holt Forest. Its nearest town is Alton, which stands some five miles west of the village.
