Beascochea Bay

Beascochea Bay is a bay 10 nautical miles long and 45 nautical miles wide, indenting the Graham Coast of Graham Land, in the British Antarctic Territory, off the Grandidier Channel. It is entered south of Cape Perez.

The glaciers Lever, Funk, Cadman, Talev and Butamya feed the bay.

The bay was discovered but incompletely defined by the Belgian Antarctic Expedition of 1897–1899. It was resighted by the French Antarctic Expedition under Charcot in 1903-1905. Charcot named the bay after Commander Beascochea of the Argentine Navy, who assisted the expedition at Ushuaia in January 1904. The bay was further charted by the French Antarctic Expedition of 1908-1910.

The bay was then more accurately charted by the British Graham Land Expedition of 1934–1937, in August 1935. It was photographed from the air by the Falkland Islands and Dependencies Aerial Survey Expedition of 1956-57.
