New Rock is a rock islet rising 344 feet above sea level off the south-west coast of Deception Island in the South Shetland Islands, part of the British Antarctic Territory.

The rock was presumably known to nineteenth-century sealers but was apparently first charted by the Norwegian Antarctic Expedition of 1930 to 1931, and called descriptively Hjelmen ('the helmet') or Ny Rock ('New Rock') and so charted in 1934. It was recharted by Discovery Investigations in 1935 and labelled 'New Rock'. The name (by various translations) appears to be universally accepted.
