Not to be confused with the River Shiel which runs down Glen Shiel to Loch Duich
The River Shiel is a three mile-long river that flows out of Loch Shiel into the sea at Dorlin. It forms the border between Ardnamurchan in Argyllshire and Arisaig and Moidart in Inverness-shire for its entire length.
Fishing
The river contains salmon and sea trout, as well as native resident brown trout weighing up to six pounds.
