Yearning Flow is a minor sike on the slopes of Wilson's Pike (1,362 feet) amongst the Cheviot Hills, and the area of mossy ground on the hill foot from which it gathers its waters. It is within the Newcastleton Forest.
The hill slope here is on the edge of Roxburghshire, as it adjoins Cumberland, just a thousand yards from the bounds of Northumberland.
At the foot of the slope, the burn joins the Kershope Burn, which here forms the county border.
