Turnberry is a village in the parish of Kirkoswald on the Ayrshire coast, six miles north of Girvan.
Turnberry is an internationally-known golf centre with three courses, as well as a mile and a half of beaches. The Turnberry Resort was bought by the Trump Organisation in 2014.
Turnberry Castle is traditionally seen as the birthplace of Robert the Bruce; the fire which attracted Bruce from Arran in 1307 may have been the same which destroyed the castle. Turnberry Lighthouse lies on Turnberry Point at the northern end of Turnberry Bay.
Nearby is Culzean Castle and Crossraguel Abbey.
