Cape Wrath from the sea, Sutherland

Cape Wrath

Cape Wrath is a high headland in the parish of Durness in Sutherland. It is the most north-westerly point on the mainland of Great Britain and one of only two places in Great Britain that are prefixed with "Cape", the other being Cape Cornwall in Cornwall.

Much of the cape is owned by the Ministry of Defence and is used as a military training area, including use as live firing range for heavy munitions. Other areas have various conservation designations. (Read more)
