Nomansland is a hamlet and a common in Hertfordshire to the south-west of Wheathampstead and north of Sandridge, the hamlet being named after Nomansland Common.

Nomansland Common is a piece of open land and scrubby woodland bisected by Ferrers Lane with open grassland used for walking and picnics while the north has grown up into woodland, punctuated by biking trails.

Ferrers Lane is named after Lady Katherine Ferrers, said to have been the notorious highwaywoman, the Wicked Lady, from whom the Wicked Lady pub at the end of the lane is named. (Read more)
