Portskerra is a hamlet that overlooks Melvich Bay on the north coast of Sutherland, and therefore of Great Britain. The village of Melvich is less than a mile to the south-east.
The name of the place is from the Old Norse language by way of Gaelic: the Gaelic name is Port Sgeire, meaning 'Skerry harbour'.
