Derwentwater

Derwentwater is a lake in Cumberland, and one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District. This is a place of natural beauty, begirt with high fells whose slopes facing Derwentwater are heavily wooded.

The lake lies within part of Borrowdale and lies immediately south of the town of Keswick. It is both fed and drained by the River Derwent. It measures approximately three miles long by a mile wide and is some seventy-two feet deep. (Read more)
