Maelor South is a civil community in the Maelor detached part of Flintshire. It contains the villages of Penley and Bettisfield along with a number of other small hamlets. It was formed from the civil parishes of Penley and Bettisfield. At the time of the 2001 census, the parish had a total population of 1,137 people.[1]
