Wigsthorpe is a hamlet in the east of Northamptonshire, south of Oundle and its neighbouring village, Barnwell.
Attested in 1232 as Wykingethorp, the name is believed to mean "Outlying farmstead or hamlet of a man called Vikingr".[1]
