Wallace's Cave is in Roslin Glen, in Midlothian. It is also known as Hawthornden Castle Cave, after Hawthornden Castle which stands nearby in the glen.
The cave takes its name from William Wallace, the Guardian of Scotland, who participated in the Battle of Rosslyn, fought close to the cave on 24 February 1303. There is no evidence that Wallace visited the cave.
