Welcome to Wikishire! It is modest but good natured community here; there is a fair bit of work to be done to make the project what it can be, but do dip in and do what you can.

There are some user guides to help (just click here (or "Add it and Edit" on the front page). Pictures, as you will see, are grabbed from Wikimedia Commons (you cannot upload them here).

It is a wiki about places, not a sterile encyclopaedia, so don't stop yourself saying that a pretty village is pretty; in fact DO say it is pretty or you are losing some of the essence of the place. Subtle, good-natured humour is not banned either as it is in certain other wikis one could mention. It is interesting Googling to see how much Wikishire material finds its way elsewhere on the web, which is all to the good.

You made a fair comment on a Hampshire article and we do not have much material on Hampshire so far, so if that is the place you know best, go ahead. Let us build the sort of wiki this can become.
