Upper Canterton is a tiny village in Hampshire, on a little lane immediately south of Book in the New Forest in the south-west of the county. The A31 trunk road tears by to the south of the village, cutting off the old lane to Minstead south of the road.
The Rufus Stone commemorating the death of King William II, William Rufus, from an arrow shot by Sir Walter Tyrrell, stands on the heath just south by the village. In the village is a country pub, The Sir Walter Tyrrell.
