The Turret

The Turret is a headland rising to 1509 feet above the sea to the south-east of Gibbon Bay in the east of Coronation Island amongst the South Orkney Islands in the British Antarctic Territory.
This headland was probably sighted by Powell and Palmer in December 1821. It was charted by Discovery Investigations in 1933 and named descriptively. The feature was surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey from Signy in 1956-58.
