The Grey Mare and her Colts may be found at the head of a dry valley in the parish of Long Bredy.[1] The site is accessible. The remains of another tomb, the Hell Stone, is a mile to the east; while the Kingston Russell Stone Circle is around half a mile northwest.
The remnants of the burial chamber are located at the southeast end of a long barrow.[2] The long barrow is a rectangular mound, orientated northwest to southeast and 80 feet long. The mound tapers in width from the southeast end (43 feet) to the northwest end (26 feet).[1] The burial chamber and façade are ruined and the capstone has fallen down.[2]
