Slieve Donard Slieve Donard is a mountain in County Down, within the Mourne Mountains. It is the highest mountain in the Mournes, in the county and in Northern Ireland as a whole. Slieve Donard looms over the seaside town of Newcastle on the eastern coast of County Down, the mountain standing just two miles from the Irish Sea.
