Salcombe

Salcombe is a little maritime town in the very south of Devon, close to the mouth of the Kingsbridge Estuary and climbing up the steep slopes on the steep west side of the estuary.

The town's extensive waterfront and the naturally sheltered harbour formed by the estuary have enured that Salcombe has long been a town tied to the sea, and has found success in boatbuilding and shipbuilding. These days it is popular with sailing enthusiasts. (Read more)
