River Nairn

The River Nairn is a river which shares a name with the wee town at its mouth and in turn with the county; Nairnshire. The river rises in the Highlands but soon becomes a river of the coastal plain until it enters the Moray Firth.

The source of the Nairn is in the Monadhliath Mountains of Inverness-shire, whence it flows down to Culloden Moor, below which it becomes the county boundary before entering Nairnshire entirely, watering much of the county, and reaching the sea at the town of Nairn. (Read more)
