Deer in Richmond Park, Surrey

Richmond Park

Richmond Park is a large royal park in Surrey, extending over more than three and a half square miles. It is found to the south-east of Richmond and north-west of Kingston upon Thames, a vast expanse of green parkland otherwise surrounded by the urban growth of the metropolis, and containing several buildings of historical interest.

The park was created by King Charles I in the 17th century as a deer park, and deer remain roaming free in the park. It is today regarded as of national and international importance for wildlife conservation. (Read more)
