Ottery St Mary

Ottery St Mary is a little town in eastern Devon, on the River Otter about ten miles east of Exeter. The parish church of St Mary's has been referred to as "a miniature Exeter Cathedral", though Pevsner with his wonted cruelty described it as “lying large and low like a tired beast”.

Latterly, Ottery St Mary has become best known for its exuberant Bonfire Night celebrations. (Read more)
