Mên-an-TolThe Mên-an-Tol is a small formation of standing stones on the Penwith moorland in Cornwall, about three miles northwest of Madron. The name 'Mên-an-Tol' in the Cornish Language literally means "the hole stone", which is a description of the main stone. Several interesting local legends and traditions and folklore cures attach to the stones, suggested by their distinctive, and suggestive, shapes. (Read more) |
