Lastingham

Lastingham is a village in the North Riding of Yorkshire, at the foot of Spaunton Moor on the southern fringe of the North York Moors.

This is a little place, of fewer than two hundred inhabitants. Its fame is from its historical role in the early Anglo-Saxon period, as an early centre of Christian missionary activity in the pagan north, home to the missionary saints Cedd and Chad. (Read more)
