La Seigneurie

La Seigneurie stands prominently on the isle of Sark; a island within the Bailiwick of Guernsey. A grand house built in the reign of King Charles II, it is the traditional residence of the Seigneur of Sark, the island's feudal head.

The site was occupied by the Priory of Saint Magloire until the late 14th century. The house was built in the eighteenth century, and it became the seigneurial residence only in 1730, when its owner, Susanne Le Pelley, became Dame of Sark. (Read more)
