InvergordonInvergordon is a port town in Ross-shire, by the coast of the Cromarty Firth, in Easter Ross. The town gained fame as major naval base in the early twentieth century, and infamy for the Invergordon Mutiny of September 1931, over a reduction in pay during the Great Depression. Later, the Navy's having left the town, Invergordon became known for the repair of oil rigs. (Read more) |
