Gorham's Cave

Gorham's Cave is a natural sea cave in Gibraltar, puncturing the southeast face of the Rock. The cave is the last recorded place of Neanderthal occupation in the world.

The archaeological significance of the cave was revealed in the 1950s when excavations were carried out which revealed Neanderthal occupation, including stone tools made by the Neanderthals, along with a wide range of animal bones. (Read more)
