Fan Brycheiniog, Brecknockshire and Carmarthenshire

Fan Brycheiniog Fan Brycheiniog is the highest peak in the Black Mountain region of the Brecon Beacons National Park. The summit, at 2,631 feet, stands in Brecknockshire, while a subsidiary top to the north-west, Fan Foel at 2,562 feet, is the highest point of Carmarthenshire. The mountain is within the "Fforest Fawr Geopark" designated in recognition of the area's geological heritage. The Beacons Way, a waymarked long distance footpath forks near the mountain, with one option passing over the summit and along the long ridge. (Read more)
