Carlow

Carlow is the county town of County Carlow, sitting on the River Barrow, which flows through the town and here forms the boundary between counties of Laois and Carlow.

Carlow is thousands of years old and pre-dates written Irish history. It has played a major role in Irish history, serving as the capital of the country in the 14th century. Modern Carlow, with its good transport links has become a popular commuter town for Dublin. (Read more)
